“Everyone and welcome back to another half stone budget deck video hope everyone had a a fantastic weekend. I know i did i had both days off and i spent thoroughly enjoying myself much hedonism was had but we re back and we re gonna be playing some budget decks today before we get into things as always we have our criteria. So with this budget deck series. We don t set an arbitrary dust limit instead.
What we want to do is focus on the core of a deck. Which might be four to six rares and we want to make sure that we ve got a reasonable upgrade path so that there is some you know higher high tier deck out there so we can start with the core of it the basics of it and then if you want to invest more dust you can go for them. And at the end of the day. You will have a hopefully one of the higher tier decks or a high performing deck.
That you can use on the ladder that last point there we re not really gonna focus on too much as in focusing on cards that aren t rotating there s plenty of the cards at the moment. We ll have heaps of longevity as we won t see a rotation for quite a while all right now. I was thinking of doing paladin today. But i kind of had a bit of a kick in the rear.
When i woke up today and i wanted to do row. Because rogue is actually one of the tougher ones. One that we ve struggled with in the past. I figured.
I was up for the task. So it we d smash rogue out today so unfortunately. Other than quest rogue. A lot of the rogue decks out.
There don t have the best performance at the moment. But one of the ones that s just slightly off the pace is tempura contemporary oaks. Almost always had a place in the meta and is at various points it can be quite good if certain decks are appearing quite often on the ladder. So it s still a good one here s a couple of the decks that i ve swatted.
I pulled all of these from hs replays. So this is a very aggressive version of tempo rope the whole idea behind temper oak is we want to control the board. We will very early on we want to clear out our opponent opponents minions. Particularly with our hero power it means clearing off the early minions is quite quite easy.
And we re going to use that early game advantage to lead into killing our opponents. Hopefully in that mid to the mid game to like early late game. As you can see the curve simply stops at five here and five is like vile spine. Which is you know a wait usually a way to remove the final blockers and liro.
Which is a finishing blow. So we re doing a lot of stuff in that kind of turn two three four and a three four five area and we re hopefully going to like i said use that advantage to kill our opponents before they can come back with more powerful cuts every temporary deck. We saw was plain callous f. So that s obviously something we can t do because callous.
It is a legendary however i would say that if there s any one legendary you should craft this deck is probably callous f. Though also leroy s in base sets. So you ll get more mileage out of leroy. But two extremely good legendaries worth.
Crafting so as we re trying to control the early game. We have a lot of fantastic one drops argent squire firefly close your shard and south sea deckhand. This is the deck that was playing the most one drops. But every every list.
I saw played at least two and it all of them played firefly so firefly glacial shadow firefight at south sea deck and most common combinations. We have back stabs as well for the early game control now shadow step here is fantastic in this deck. Because we have things like callous earth. Blink.
Fox resetting event. Cliff. Getting more elven minstrel. Draws.
More saronite chain gang to tokens and murdering them with leroy and val spawn so shadows. It s really good in this deck. I don t know how well it s gonna go in our deck. Considering a lot of the cards that i just mentioned we can t play so that s something that we re going to be keeping an eye on because maybe shadow steps not the greatest cut to run in a budget build moving on we have calluses going into our threes.
We have hinch clan thug and si7 hench clan thug phenomenal if we re attacking every turn. It s essentially a gruel it s going to grow each turn is almost always going to be a three drop for four at the very least. And if hereupon doesn t deal. Anything.
He s going to run away with the game si. 7. Is hopefully going to remove a threat. Even through a torrent as well.
Which is important because there s a lot of tar creepers around and provides a 3 3. Body to get some work done later. Minstrel helps us not run out of gas and probably the only reason. I d keep the shadow step in here.
Because we will definitely be running minstrels and the one off spell breaker to help remove some taunts now. There was a slower version that i saw which only had the two to one drops here and instead plays as we mentioned. Before the tar creepers. It s got a sonia shadow dance in here.
And plays a bit more of a like and with to scale beans. So cutting some of those early drops for the late drops. The later drops may be trying to outmuscle aggro paladin these types of decks. But another consideration for us do we play some amount of late game or do we cut the early game or do we slice it down the middle.
So here s what have helped with the tempo rogue core. I have included the shadow steps. Because the shadow steps were in every single deck that we saw. But we might want to cut those at the end so this was the most common combination of wan drops and these are this is our most powerful these are our most powerful commons.
We have access to the rails. I ve chosen to include at the si zones in the elven minstrel elements. Will actually have one of the next. Two callous earth.
In a lot of these decks has one of the highest played wind rates around so i m looking forward to hopefully doing some work with these minstrels a lot of these things pretty self explanatory. But here s woke up with the the final list. So i ve chosen to include six one drops. So not eight or not four.
I kind of like i said cutting it in the middle with the fireflies glacial shards and south sea deckhands. We can t include calluses. So we have got some two drops in here i ve gone with dire wolf alpha. I did al manar about other two drops but if you find that the dire wolf alpha.
Isn t working for you things like amani berserker blood cell radar or even. The plated beetle could work out for you actually is there even maybe the vicious scale hired or another another to drop that s gonna go well with these shadow sips but i ve gone for the dire wolf alpha. To hopefully take advantage of these one drops also slaughtered some of this rates in here to help us control. The board and give us a bit more reach.
We don t have leroy in here. So reaches something that we are going to be quite desperate for and i put one off sap. In here. I think this could even be maybe a second spell break or something.
But sap is a fantastic tempo card. It s always the it epitomizes tempo and we just don t see it because everyone s wearing calluses. We ve got the hinge plans si sevens one tar creeper in here. I wanted a another taunt that comes down before chain gang.
I think the one target. But could do alright. Though it s could also be blink fox and in fact. Maybe.
We should be playing blink foxes because we ve got the the shadow steps in here. Minstrels chain gangs still got the one spell breaker and at the end. I ve got to scale beans and one fungal man sir just want to have a bit more of a chunkier a late game in here alright anyway. That s a dick sorry for my ramblings once again.
I m no tempura broke expert. But i think that this deck could do pretty well so we ll be okay. It was some games against hunter. So actually haven t seen all the hunters around not too sure i think we maybe keep this at least.
We have one two three cove. I m considering that kind of the only two drop where we d want to see is dire wolf alpha. It s a pretty low percentage. I think i think this is fine once i always as always paulo g s for the lag.
It usually does clear up after a couple of games. If you are watching this on youtube. I did actually post a video up with the music with the construction of this deck. I usually don t i usually prepare pre prepare everything.
But i thought i d actually make a deck australia we re fine taking three for the privileges growing out now peak slightly awkward for them to remove as well hmm music. It s pretty dangerous code for us to have to deal with but foam. Answer is pretty good. And so i think we want to hit hit fungal man.
So between these two so this will be a five to buffed to a 7x and then we ll have a chart went out as well for anyhow mmm trying to figure out what this shadow step is gonna be good for though maybe foam. Answer all the open minstrel hmm. If we daggers and type these. In you have to keep out boy get some chain gangs.
You know i guess we should have played it over here in case. Our opponent has crushing walls nice on the board. So i guess a good example of exactly what we want to we want to do in each game. All right back with another game.
It s priest full mulligan here. Rubbish hand yep you need a lot of help on this one to get in the game is there a bit of true drop that is the question like if we wanted more shadowstep stuff like see how far we get blown by how far blown out. We kept by this dusk break up this coin. Dusk break.
Oh oh really i wanna play chain gang into a dusk break. Oh. Alright. If they do have dusk breaker.
It s really bad if they don t it s pretty good for us. When s if we don t play it and they do then we come back with like a scale beam music. If we get it right. We.
Did notice a slightly better position. Maybe. We should cold blooded they re actually. It s real.
Yeah. Wish for cold blooded you might have forced a a bigger reaction out of our opponent. Hey you know see what my opponents gonna do about this hard to find him yeah every time we play do was it the loss work deck that we played as well where we got totally wrecked by by fire us. If they have if they have the second dose breaker.
Still now then props to them. I guess alternatively. We could have gone chain. Gang.
Shadowstep chain. Gang. Dagger. Hope.
Maybe. That would have been a bit better yeah. Especially going into a turn where they could have a handle room that definitely would have been would have been better. But they totally would have played an one last turn right if they had it watches like both of these cobalts drop swords on to these check on chain gangs and they slam into them yeah.
Interesting. So they re playing to psychic experience. Ah. The sap off the top brutal brutal.
I m sure there are super high high chance to get that psychic scream. I don t know what we can what we can really draw help us get out of here yeah well i think one of my weakest skills especially with rogue. It s learning when to a cold blood because maybe if we had cold blooded uh eternal illya. We might have provoked a bigger reaction out of our planet.
Which might have been better oh well later in the game all right paladin hmm. I don t know if we want glacier shard on the play as well much rather. See firefly. It s just too much potential apparent.
Full mulligans too much potential for us to get blown out if if they re like even or something i m not so. He s you know locks. This is a reasonable start against merlocks being on a play helps so much music question is do we trade in what we go faced with the fly at the very least just because it makes the repentance secret of the resurrection one slightly less frustrating to deal with and we should have just played all the fireflies hmm hmm. Yeah.
That might have actually been a bit of happy with that we ll hold this flame element or a trillion. Mr. Minstrels. So not feeling great about the position.
Just cuz. This this might not be my log paladin might be some like i don t know i can get a range ii powered and in disguise because they re not doing much more like so how we doing we re doing pretty good. We re doing pretty good would you take the i think it s the one that reduces health to one so i m gonna yeah. We re gonna play as over as a versus caleb and then like this gallon fully still good but i just don t want to like get super wrecked by a consecration at least if they consecration here.
We follow up with scale bane deckhand. We have a bunch more cards in hand from the the minstrel. So we might be able to curtail that into some better pressure. Yeah so you know the time that you were gone ruby.
We played played two games with one one and we re looking on writing this one the the second game against the priest was actually pretty pretty interesting one definitely one that way if we could watch a replay of the game. No know what was in our up on his hand would have been a i mean real good so i think maybe we go scale bane cold blood music. So is this gonna be like a quality consecrate that they ve been sandbagging no juggler colton s music lucky for us this week. I think that s another thing that i m not good with is like in that game.
It wasn t a matter of that they want a completely different day. So. What i thought we made the call turn one it smell of paladin and then we were actually ahead. Which is why they weren t deploying threats.
Very well that we were either a head or they had a bad hand. But as soon as that starts happening. I just start always convincing myself that oh maybe they re on a different day. Maybe they re trying to trying to you know pull a fast one on us.
Yeah. So two one yeah. I don t know if their turn one like if their turn one coin secret hydrologist was that they had a bad hand or if it s they didn t want to give up their premium. One drops for our for half of our bad.
One drop and ab dad go half of our dagger as well so spiteful maybe applause hmm do we dagger or do we die or falfa music. Don t exactly want to expose this diet. Wolf alpha. To like a like a druid of the scythe next turn.
This guy s sucks can t kill it though just get our people a train going fitz. If it is spiteful. They might struggle to kill this hmm now things prove difficult so many options mmm good stuff real tough and the bird spiteful. Spiteful running the bed music.
So this way this way we protect our thug slightly more spiteful flip and rip. It watch yep pink donk buddies drew to the size music i don t know i think our a chance here is that they re not on spiteful that they re on some like aggro thing applause this rights pretty good are the chances of their own spot foam. They just never do a spot for and we can kill them in the next two tents before that cost alternative fest station. Which given we have a scale ban on board is pretty possible and like all it takes is for them to kind of misstep once they re down to drool to the sides for floor on charge is good do they hit the scale scale.
Bain with the hero power. Know is interesting. Though we gave them the plays out of our pocket. That may suggest that one of both of these cards are ultimately upper stations hmm so what s our play here we definitely want to get this scale by now because it s gonna provide us with the most um damage over multiple turns like this is kind of eight power five power now three valuator three feathers when after as well glacial shard.
We can freeze and they ll give us more options or do we just go chain gang minstrel. Let s go so they have another druid of the claw. A young taunt mode crab like my primordial drake. They ll be pretty bad so.
Breakup is not the worst chenggang is pretty bad so we re gonna eat null infestation next turn music music all right that s what we ve got my control tech on the first one. How long did they have that spiteful for that s super. Frustrating. I wonder oh music music here.
We go hey. It s closed. I do we have a fool on that last time we probably did right i totally missed it i totally missed. It wait i don t want to freeze that oh gosh sort of uh.
There s a lot of miss plays happening. It s right about now a lot of miss place happening. Oh waits for no one no doesn t get us there unfortunately. Damn did we have a lethal that toe that we put them to aid and super frustrated if we did take a look at the ring alright.
We are back after four games went to two which is pretty good for for rank seven some parts of the day worked out really well i think the just the general curve of those one drops into the hinge. Clamp worked out extremely well dire. Wolf alpha. Was soso.
But i think the i think the shadow steps might have actually been lean a bit weak or at least the second maybe the second shadow step. We didn t we didn t cast them at all and also when they were in our hand. They were pretty bad like at no point did they ever really feel good. So maybe we could be cutting those for like some some more to drop minions like some some blood cell raiders or something like that although then again.
We were daggering onto so much maybe we we want another one drop like the argent s choir or something like that so i think i might add that to the to the guide. And just kind of say look you know shadow step is in is in every single tempo rogue deck. But if you are playing a real true lee budget version feel free to cut it for um. Some or two drops or small one drops or something like that i m not what was happy with the eviscerate and saps happy with everything else yeah felt felt pretty good so give this deck ago.
